CandyKins™

Each customizable cartoon Doodlekins™ face can be customized with wedding accessories, a birthday hat, Holiday accessories, Halloween costumes, and more, and the greeting on the back label can say anything you want, with a variety of fun fonts and colors!

You can also stick a business or mommy card to one of the candy hands; find them at www.doodlekinscartoonfamilies.com on the "Calling Cards" shelf!

Instructions:

Ideally, you want to use the back label to adhere everything together, and not need the extra step of using glue. If you have young children that will want to really play with these, or you have a lot of trouble putting them together with just the label, then you might opt for low-temp hot glue for the candy appendages, and use the label decoratively to conceal your handywork.

Purchase your CandyKins™ face and back sticker sets from the "Stickers" shelf in the store at www.doodlekinscartoonfamilies.com/showroom. Then, hit the grocery store! You'll need 1 lollipop, 1 chocolate bar, and 4 Smarties™ or 4 Tootsie Rolls™ to create 1 CandyKins™ character. You can substitute any kind of candy you like, and make different sized/shaped people. You can also add yarn and other embellishments, like rhinestone stickers, etc., even turn your CandyKins™ into ornaments or gift package decorations!

This is an easy step; kids can set up the people!

Apply the face sticker to the lollipop.

This is an easy step for kids!

Peel a rectangle label off the backing sheet and turn it upside down on your work table. Press the roll candy "arms" and "legs" down onto it. Leave space at the top so you can press it to the lollipop and candy bar. If you put the candy rolls too high up, the label won't stick and it can come loose and peel backwards! If you put the candy roll "arms" out straight, their weight will eventually pull them off the label, so point them downward, as shown.

This is an easy step for kids,
but you'll want to push the wrapper ends down really hard so they stay put.

Turn the lollipop over and lay it on the candy bar as shown below. Then, turn the label over with the candy stuck to it, and position it over the lollipop stick and the candy bar. Once you like where it is, begin pressing the label down carefully. You don't want to squish the chocolate, but you can press down pretty firmly. Slip a finger under the loose edge of the candy wrapper where it's sealed. When you find that flap, press the label and lollipop wrapper together really hard. Also pay attention to adhering the top "neck" area of the label we talked about leaving open, above. You'll want to press it firmly to the candy bar and lollipop wrappers. You can leave the label looser where the legs are attached. It lets the CandyKin™ dance around better, because the candy rolls will dangle more freely.

This step is best done by the adults, especially if you opt for low-temp glue.
If you go that route, kids can stick the back label on afterwards.

Turn your masterpiece over, and behold...your CandyKins™!
We have Sully and his little sister Fionnuala shown below, two of super customer Amy Wilson's adorable kiddos, and part of the Doodlekins Cartoons™ Family for many, many years!

  1. Oh I am LOVING these! I could make a whole CandyKins family, and I know that my children would love those! I like the idea of easily sticking everything to the label on back, but I also like the idea of gluing the arms & legs and using the sticker for the front decoration... What a clever, clever creation!

  2. Really cool. Rita's idea of putting the label in front is a good idea too. I think I'll try them all kinds of ways. Have to get me some and I'll post pix after. I've never ordered from Doodlekins before and I saw this on Facebook.
