This is a directory of pet rescues online. You can find anything from a dog to a guinea pig in your area, in need of a new home! You can search very specifically on their site, this little widget has the basics. Please note, this is an incredible resource, but, it's not monitored, so there are some puppy mills that sneak in. If you see pets for high adoption fees ($200+), and the "rescue" has lots of designer puppies, it's probably best to report it and skip it.
